Z3000 Atom is a series of processors brought to us by Intel. This Processor guarantees much better performance than the earlier processors that powered Windows series of OS, especially Windows 7 Netbooks, laptops and other devices. The idea of revamping the Atom chips was disclosed by Intel a week ago. The performance of the new Windows 8.1 and Android tablets is made better by employing “out-of-order execution”. The technology is employed in most of the mainstream laptop processors which are high in performance made by Intel.
The Z3000 Atom series, that targets Windows 8.1 tablets as well as Android tablets, has improved graphics and various features. The graphics has improved silicon, similar to high definition technology which runs on Ivy Bridge processors for laptops made by Intel. However, according the present public demand of tablets, Intel is yet not in a position to compete with Apple, Samsung, and Qualcomm, the ARM chip giants. These giants have been ruling the tablet market since the time tablets were introduced. It will definitely take some time for the Z3000 series by Intel to be able to dominate the tablet market like these giant companies do.
Chris Walker, who is the manager for tablet processors at Intel, comments on this particular fact, saying that it is their first major updating of the processors, he tells us about the technology, features and added advanced technologies in the series. His exact words are, “This is the first major revamp of the Atom architecture in five years. We’re able to bring our leading-edge 22-nanometer technology. So those [3D] transistors provide the foundation for [increased performance] and the HD graphics.”
The image below shows us what exactly the Z3000 Atom has to offer us.

The table clearly represents the facts and features of the series. From the features of the different Z3000 series processors we can say that with a little more updating Intel will be able to compete with Apple, Samsung and Qualcomm within a year or two. As we can see, the memory has been improved. It is now faster than before with a 64-bit interface, and speed ranging up to a full 17 gigabytes per second, with a resolution to admire. This surely is one of the best and vast improvements done over the Clover Trail chips of the running generation. The information mentioned here is according to what Chris Walker tells the world. He has also said that all of this result in a remarkable performance boost over the “Clover Trail” Atom currently running. On the image you will notice the features of Z3370 at the top of all, running at up to 2.4 GHz frequencies and supporting much faster memory. It supports a dual-channel LPDDR3 1067 at amazing capacities of going up to 4GB. Intel has said that Acer, Asus, Lenovo, Toshiba and Dell will also be announcing tablets and hybrids using the Intel technology.
