COMEDK UGET 2018, conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka, is an approaching national level entrance exam for engineering aspirants in India.
Though COMEDK is state level exam for admissions in Karnataka, the opportunities related to it are plenty, especially with regard to seat availability. This is because, on the successful qualification of this exam, aspirants stand a chance to gain one among the 20,000 seats, offered through 150 colleges associated with COMEDK UGET.
The difficulty level of this exam may not be as high as JEE Mains or JEE Advanced, but it is still competitive by itself. This is because COMEDK was also used for getting admission in undergraduate medical and dental courses before last year. Therefore, the number of applicants who used to register for the exam was in lakhs. When the system changed, the number of registrations dropped, but only slightly. In 2017 for instance, more than 70,000 candidates registered initially, but only 59,000 candidates wrote the exam.
Now, the paper pattern of COMEDK UGET is such that it consists of more questions than JEE Mains and are direct types by nature. The three subjects usually covered in this exam are Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). So, in a way, it does require more time, speed and good preparation to qualify. This simply implies that candidates need to push up their exam preparations with regard to PCM sections and be smart about their study techniques. Though these subjects are not everybody’s favorite, any structured study technique is more than enough to score maximum scores that counts as qualifying COMEDK.
Fortunately, for students living in this age of modern technology, there are always multiple ways to adopt efficient study techniques.
Offline v/s Online
One such efficient technique is studying or learning online. In many ways, preparing online for entrance exams are better than the offline methods of studying. Online preparation techniques stand out basically because they are less expensive than the normal coaching classes wherein monthly fees have to be spared. Another reason that stands out is the availability of online learning resources 24*7. A student needs only to make sure of two mandatory things to study online; a computer or phone and a good internet connection. This also benefits the students to study at ease within the comfort of their homes.
On a similar note, YouTubes are a great source for online preparations. This is because studying of subjects such as Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry become more interesting and fun through interactive videos. These days, YouTube videos have a plenty of educational channels and platforms that offer study lessons and instructional videos on important questions, syllabus topics, mock tests series and sample papers (class wise and chapter wise).
Most of the time, these channels also include descriptive videos explaining basic concepts and fundamental topics. The resources provided online are not only free of cost but also creative and easier to understand and remember important topics as well as concepts. Therefore, this method of studying becomes more beneficial for the ones preparing for COMEDK PCM subjects than offline studies.
