Google’s Blogger has finally announced the inclusion of a featrure called ‘scheduled blog posts’ which allows the bloggers to schedule their blog posts to be published on a future date. Currently, this feature can be made used only by logging in through the draft version of the blogger – http://draft.blogger.com/ . All we need to do is, give a future date & time in the ‘post options’ section of the new blog post.
In the near future we can surely expect this feature to be part of the main blogger. Till now, the only possible solution to schedule our blog posts was through the use of email option provided by the blogger. That is, if we link our blog posts to an email id & if that email provider supports the mail scheduling then we could have scheduled our blog posts. But, this also had few major limitations like
-
Formatting problem
-
No support for scheduling mails with images
-
Only few mail providers have an option for scheduling the mails.
With the release of this new feature Google seems to have eased the whole process of scheduling. I think this is one of the best enhancement (atleast for me) to the blogger annonced by the Google team over the past few months. This can help lot of bloggers to easily mainatin a posting discipline which in turn may help them to drive more traffic to the blog.
