Technology is running at such a fast pace that some of us are still trying to cope up with it. For the ones who are in love with what science has to offer us, every new gadget or invention that is launched is like a blessing in disguise.
One of the most popular gadgets that many manufacturers have launched is the portable power charging source. These are called “Power Banks”. This trend started when the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi came out with the MI power banks. They released two models – one with 10400 mAh capacity and another one with 5200 mAh capacity.
Of course there are more than a dozen companies out there right now selling something similar for something around the same price. But Xiaomi has a reputation that is hard to beat in the global market.
Pricing and other specs:
The 5200 mAh capacity power bank comes at an MRP of Rs 599 and the 10400 mAh capacity power bank for Rs. 999. These come in only silver color, other manufacturers offer a wide range of colors, and have included more options: like multiple USB slots so that you can charge more than one device at once.
Functionality:
Everyone carries a smartphones around and we all know that no matter how much battery power your phone carries with it, it’ll never be enough.
How many devices can you charge at the same time anyways? You have your phones, your camera, your portable gaming console, your mp3 player, your eBook reader, etc. this is where the functionality of the portable power bank sets in. you can charge your devices anywhere you are without worrying about there being no electricity, unavailability of time to charge because you are on the go, etc. just charge this little puppy once and it will charge your phone up to about 3 to 5 times at least in one full charge. Seems like a fair deal, right? It absolutely is!
Not to mention that the thing is completely portable. It is small and light to carry around even in your purse. You can take it anywhere. Keep it in your car, room, your travel bag, etc. This is one of the main reasons that the portable power bank is the next “must carry” gadget, regardless of who you are.
Understanding the technicality
“The milliampere-hour (mAh) is one-thousandth of an ampere-hour and is a technical term for how much electrical charge a particular battery will hold.” This basically means that the more mAh you have on your battery, the more charge the device will hold and more time you will have to spend without another charge. So this would mean that buying a 10400 mAh battery would be more convenient than to pick up something with a 3000 mAh power capacity considering how much you use these gadgets of yours of course. But if you are a minimal user, a smaller capacity power bank will be efficient, as it is smaller and also lighter to carry around.
