Increase RSS Subscribers for your blog using rssHugger

By User ImagePrasanna | May 7, 2008

Now a day’s lots of people are trying to earn their bred & butter by coming up with new web 2.0 applications rssHugger intended for promoting blogs. Recently I came across one such application called rssHugger. RssHugger is trying to bring the blogger’s & readers together by helping the blogger’s  to promote their blogs & the visitors to discover new blogs which speaks about topics of their interest. They say themselves as the ‘first ever quality, spam free & viral RSS directory strictly for bloggers’. But, i am not sure whether it is really first in its kind.

Every blogger who registers with rssHugger gets his own RSS page for his blog on rssHugger.  But to register your blog with rssHugger, either you have to write a short review about their service or you have to pay a fee of $20 per year. Your RSS page on the rssHugger displays the RSS feeds for your site. So, If the visitors find your site interesting they may think of subscribing to your feeds. If you have a startup blog & if you are working hard to increase the readership for that blog, you can definitely give a try for rssHugger.

Orkut Apps - Google’s Answer for Facebook Applications

By User ImagePrasanna | Apr 20, 2008

Of late Google has released the much required enhancement for Orkut - “The Open Social Applications” for its Indian users, who constitute about 10% of its total user base. Though Google has not explicitly given any time frame for the availability of this feature for its Non Indian users, it is shortly believed to be made available. Developers can create social applications for Orkut on their own using the popular Open Social API provided by Google. This is sure to make Orkuting more exciting & and also it has opened the door for having unlimited & customizable features in the days to come.

Even though Orkut has established itself as the leading Social networking site, it was way behind Facebook when it comes to open social applications. But, addition of this new feature has certainly enabled Orkut to compete with its emerging rival Facebook. Well, the battle just seems to have begun. Let’s hope for the best to win.

Here is the video demo of Orkut Apps.
