Was Albert Einstein right about technology ruling the world?
He once said, “I fear the day that technology will surpass human interaction and the world will have a generation of idiots.”
Long before the era of mobile phone and laptops, Albert Einstein one of the brilliant geniuses of the 20th century predicted that technology will one day surpass the human interaction and we will have a generation of idiots.
Some of the historians debate that the man never said something like this, but whatever the reality is, somewhere we know it is coming true. People nowadays are just glued to their mobile phones. Whether they are out with their family or they are waiting for food or watching their favorite sport, or even driving a car, you will not find a single person who is not involved with their cell phones.

So the question is where the world is really coming to, are we being ruled by technology simply functioning as puppets. Like everything has its pros and cons, technology also has its own pros and cons. It is indeed beneficial for mankind in terms of monetary advantages, communication benefits and staying connected and updated with what is going on in the world.
But on the other hand, it has its own cons, which have deeply affected us. We have lost a lot at the hand of technology, it seems to be a small loss but in reality, it is one of the greatest loss mankind has ever faced. We have lost the sense of interacting with each other without the help of technology, we have lost the sense of valuing people that are around us. For us, it’s good to be connected with our friends and family through social media when they just live across the street.
Have you ever given thought to the fact that you are surrounded by way too many digital products? It is true but we can’t imagine ourselves being detached from our gadgets. Laptops, tablets, smartphones you name them, it seems as if they control our lives. Have you ever asked yourself this question, why in the world are they so important? The answer is no you haven’t because we are so habitual of using these gadgets it seems life will be stagnant without them.
The current time we are living in, you will find people who will say that they can live without their friends and family but not without their gadgets. Honestly, I’m not just saying this, it’s a fact, if we are asked to live on an island with only three things, probably food, Wi-Fi and a laptop is all we are going to ask for. So this shows that even in a joke we want our gadgets more than our relations. Technology creators would never have thought in their wildest imagination that the gift they were giving to the people would make them so aggressive and far from human interaction.
Social Media Is Like Queen Bee
We humans give social media more priority than any other thing. Does this mean virtual relationships and friend circle excites us more than meeting people in real? For us social networking websites are so important we waste our precious time in making updates and checking news feed, we don’t even consider it a waste of time for us it is utilizing time for staying connected with our friends and family.
I feel sorry for entire families who are suffering because of this social media, parents waiting for children to get offline so they can have dinner, kids waiting for their dads to finish off their work, wives waiting for their husbands to finish their tasks like setting schedules for the next day, so that they can have an important discussion.
Feelings Have No Value
Before the beginning of the digital era, people had feelings and emotions of humanity. But as the world started to get an advance, people started getting rid of emotions. Feelings of compassion have taken over in the shape of jealousy, envy, aggression, anxiety etc. We need to ask ourselves are we the same people who used to feel the pain of others and tried to make them happy. Actually, our most of the time is being utilized in using technology which as a result has left us with no time for feeling emotions.
Emotions Are Passing Away
Have you ever felt that the time we spend on the internet and video games must be invested in growing relations with the people that are around us? In our present world, every age group is suffering from the disease called “Technology Addiction”. Thinking about it seriously we pity people who have beautiful families but don’t have time to spend with them. Though they have enough time to spend on their digital devices might be a part of their work, but what about their personal lives, that is suffering the most. The time you understand that your professional life is suppressing your personal life, start discarding those things that are unnecessary like reducing the use of social media websites.
Distinct Diseases Are Hitting Lives
We all know that technology has a huge impact on our lives. Wives sitting in front of the TV is a common scenario in many houses. This affects their thinking which diverse the brain in, multiple directions meaning that people would be leading an unfocused life. Children, on the other hand, don’t care about their studies or food which causes health and academic issues. The professionals surrounded by the digital devices at work lose their focus at work and are at a risk of mental distress.
With the increasing mental stress, there is room for disagreement and arguments. Avoiding such situations is the key to a healthy and happy life.
