If you are frequently juggling with multiple computers, then there can be a need for you to copy the same data to diffe
rent computes. It will be much easier if you can achieve this task by using the normal copy & paste commands. Following are the three tools using which one can seamlessly copy & paste data across multiple computers.
1) cl1p.net
The cl1p.net, rightly called as the Internets clipboard lets you to copy & paste data between multiple computers with out installing any extra software. From your local computer you can go to any URL which starts with http://cl1p.net (for eg., http://cl1p.net/ts) & paste your content in the box provided. Click on save when you are done with the copy operation. On any other remote computer, you can just visit the same URL to find the copied information.
2) Network Clipboard
The free network clipboard utility software allows you to copy texts, files & images between multiple computers. After downloading the software, you just need to set the shared directory for the clipboard by clicking on the exe file. Immediately after that, you can start copying by using ctrl+altc+c & ctrl+alt+v commands.
3) PonPon – Copy & paste FireFox add-on
The new PonPon copy & paste experimental Firefox add-on lets you to share data across multiple computers in a LAN (Local Area Network) environment. After installation, you need to configure the plugin by adding the IP Address of other computers in the configuration window (Tools à Ponpon copy and paste). After adding all the IP’s you can click on the ‘Mirror contacts out’ option to replicate the configuration to other machines in your contact list. Once you are done with the above steps, you can copy text from your local computer to another remote computer in your contact list by using the ctrl+c & ctrl+v commands.
Now its your turn, feel free to share any other similar utilities or softwares which you have used to copy and paste data between mutiple computers.

Wow, cool tips out there, I was wondering about how to copy-paste between my laptop and my desktop instead of copying it without a pen drive or CD, Thanks, these above tips will solve my problem.
I see I see.. Always nice to learn a new trick or two. Althought I am not sure if i am gonna need it but it definitely helps!
I believe there is another service called foldershare where you share a folder with another computer. This way you just paste what you want on the other computer in the folder and they can get it out of it. I’ve used it before and it is pretty helpful.
I definitely needed this as there are two computers in the house now and I was trying to transfer stuff over, thanks so much!

This sounds really cool. I’d never considered the issue of trying to copy text from one computer to another but it’s great to see there’s a service out there.
The utilities are good. But, additional security measures need to be taken.
@Pras,
Won’t the remote terminal applications allow copy paste? I guess PC Anywhere, Windows remote desktop etc had this option.
Anyways, I have to try the FF plugin…
@FQ, I believe you are talking about Windows Live sync (which was earlier under the name Windows Folder Share). As per my experience, though it is bit different from the above tools, it surely comes handy in few times.
@Read2Know, Yeah. I do agree. If security is a major concern for you, I suggest you to use Firefox plugin over other utilities.
@Ajith, Yeah, You can even do copy paste with remote desktop but, What if the remote computer is in a different network. And also, If you want the copy paste feature between more than two computers.
I usually like to use the network drives feature in windows xp, but this goes far more beyond that, by utilizing the clipboard of each computer, pure genius!
Can’t wait to test it out between my desktop and laptop =D w00t!
I prefer to use my own server or even email something that give it to external server. You just can’t be sure that your information is secure elsewhere.
If the files are small I just send myself an email with them attached. If they’re bigger I use a usb stick. I think that it’s a lot faster than spending time on online services.
@web design miami
I’m not sure if you can do this with these services, but if you are working on a project with someone that’s not near by, copying to a usb stick would be kind of tough when you need to send files to them.
cl1p.net site is cool and really useful…Thanks for sharing.
Coming to others sources of sharing your files for free on net, you can use Window Live SkyDrive where you can share data stored in public folder. The man with whom you are sharing doesn’t need to register for an account in windows live. For more information on this please check this article on my blog:
http://tech-wonders.blogspot.com/2009/03/25gb-free-online-storage-windows-live.html
You can also use sites like adrive.com which provide 50GB of free online storage, where you can share files with just giving a link to the shared folders.
Hope this Helps..
Regards
Sites like this are great. I’ve been usualy using google docs for documents and rapidshare for everythin else. It wasn’t the most comfortable option but it at least was simple enough for all of my friends to understand. I’ll have to give cl1p.net a try.
Thks for the indications. It will save me tons of time cause i`ve 3 computers on my desk and sometimes i lost so many time with small shit stuffº
Thanks very much for this post i love anything that is short-cut or time saving related.
I ll try this new way to copy and paste data between multiple computers
Shon, the blurb on Synergy says it’s multi-platform, with some reservations. Is the copy and paste facility not available to non-Windows machines?
I am mostly use google doc for this type of requirement but i think is so easier way and latest way and will more interested thanks for this post i will use this technique as much possible.
Despite the growth and obvious importance of the Internet and distributed computing systems, it is the mainframe computer that has provided the greatest economic benefit. Mainframes are able to store and process vast amounts of data extremely quickly, which is why every bank, insurance company and airline depends on their mainframe. Yes, even today!
Nice tools and especially which offer to save the data online and to download it to another computer. I have to use rapidshare for the same and I think it is much better to do it on this tool. I’ll be giving it a try.
I have an excel spreadsheet that I attach to an email but for blackberry users I’m trying to determine how copy and paste key data into the body of the email and keep the formatting.
