Today, I was thinking of a probable change that may happen in my life (after few years) incase if I quit my day job to work on my own venture. I know there can be lot but, I was thinking about the one related to money. After thinking for few hours, two points flashed in my mind & here they are..

  • We can Earn Money, If we work for some company. We get money on only one day of the month & we spend rest of the days in utilizing that money to fulfil our needs. Most of the time, we hardly think of or get time to make some extra money.
  • We can Make Money, If we work on our own venture. We spend all the days of the month in thinking how to make money & we will act towards it.

As the above points are self explanatory I don’t think there is a need to elaborate. I don’t know whether it will be applicable for every venture or not. So, I would highly appreciate more of your thoughts on this.

Absolutely correct. Think about how much you are depreciated in a 9 to 5 job: You sell you time for a fraction of the money you could earn with your own business. Besides you spend one third (yes) of your life doing something you might not like, attracting much of the same all the time!
Work for yourself, do something you really enjoy and attract into your life money and happiness.

    Also,

    Day Job = Salary = Boring/Safe

    Entrepreneurship = Income + Assets + Feelgood + Thrills = Adventurous/Risky

Pras, its a logical logic. starting own venture gives us more satisfactions and fulfillment, enough self confident to march for bigger and better.Saying that we must realize, starting our own is easier said than done.we need to be absolutely focused what we are going to do with our life.Once we know where are we heading, once we know the destination, we can pick up money, fame etc. Though i have slightly different notion then yours regarding money, I believe prime motive of starting our own venture is an unending desire to make our presence felt. Needless to say, if you are the very best regardless where you are, steady income doesn’t seems to be an issue.

I agree working for your own company can be more risky and hectic…but the freedom that comes with it when u are working for yourself i really love that freedom and power.

I completely agree with you Pras. It’s always a better option to work for yourself rather than others. Not only would it be more rewarding.. it would be more satisfying too ;o)

The kind of joy in making your own venture work and see it grow would be the same as raising up your own kids… When you’re out there raising up someone else’s kids your only baby sitting….

when you work for yourself, you need not worry whether you’ll be getting a hike at the end of the year and then be disappointed when you get a paltry sum… In your own venture you get rewarded for your hard work and you don’t have to keep worrying about that.. (Well all this holds good if your venture’s a HIT ;o) )

something deeper … do what you love, and the money will follow … maybe … india has the best entrepreneur advice, it is in the gita, perform action for the sake of the action, the fruits of the action are out of your control …

lots of people work for themselves, some starve, some become crorepatis, there is no prediction possible

lots of people work for corps, some are obscenely rich after some years, others never get out of middle management

if your goal is money, that seems such a sad waste of a life … if your goal is passionate expansion of your potential, great, AND MONEY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT!!!!!

you may run a string of ngo’s and orphanages, and have no money, but be hugely successful

in short, if you go for money instead of what you love, you are really just an idiot who has no faith and trust in life.

@Nischal, Thanks for your thoughtful comment.

@Gregory, Thanks. I never said my only goal is money. It’s just one of the many important factors that we need to consider while working towards achieving our goal.

I think all of us would be agreed with you and it is much much better to work our own projects. If I shall have money for 6 months expenses(I hope to get very soon), I can earn twice or thrice to my current earnings. I know the magic but current circumstances don’t allow me to work on that way but I am not disappointed.

I always did a lot of writing and other promotional stuff for other sites in past but I was able to manage some time for my own sites. I think there is nothing fruitful than that and now I am working for myself. I am enjoying it very much and that is amazing.

I’m still a rookie at blogging but somehow i managed to get a fraction of the bucks. it really does pay! Given the right amount of time and effort i think online will really give back a buffer. Great post by the way, cheers.

It’s not blogging, or venturing, it is a passion. I love to do it for me or for others. More likely it is good to do it for ourselves but we should have some exposure and should help others. It is like a blessing and if someone is blessed then he/she should help others. If you would talk about money only, then there is nothing better to have your own blogs or sites and to see how your paypal and Google accounts are filling with dollars

I work for many people for free, Yes for free, just to learn and seek. Now i don’t work for anyone else because working for my own ventures is my passion. It is much much better to learn in that way because that is amazing. I work days and nights but I have no pains because I know that working at that level will save my future.
