How to beat the twitter downtime

In the recent times, owing to the increasing downtime of the trendy microblogging service Twitter, few of the habitual tweeters have already started moving or thinking of moving to other alternatives like Plurk & Pownce. If you are also badly hit by twitters downtime & unwillingly twitter_down.2jpgthinking of migrating to a new service, then hold on for a sec & have a look at the following two applications which can give you some sort of relief.

The purpose of both these applications is same, i.e., to beat the twitter downtime without migrating to a new service. These applications are making use of Store & Forward technology. They let you to post tweets even when the twitter is down. All such tweets will be queued up & will be published on twitter once it gets back to action.

Tweeting with these applications is seemingly easy. Both these applications provide a simple & user friendly UI.  You don’t even have to create a separate user name & password for using these applications. You can make use of the twitter username & password for this purpose. Apart from UI, I can hardly find any difference between these two applications in terms of its functionality.

Please feel free to share your thoughts about these services.

I really liked the way so many startups leveraging the popularity of Twitter. It’s a win-win for everyone.

Pretty interesting. I love Twitters setup. I just H.A.T.E. the amount of time it is down and the fact that even though replies were supposedly fixed on Saturday that they still don’t work on Twitter Opera. However, I hate Plurk. Absolutely hate it with a passion. It is the ugliest thing known to man, IMO. It is so ugly that the elephants head completely blew off on the homepage and the reason the fish is genetically mutated.

Pownce on the other hand is much more ‘microblogish’ than the others, which I don’t want. I already have a blog, why in the world would I want a ‘mini’ one? I want chat, but dumbed down to where it is almost micro-social-email… which is what Twitter offers.
