Google starts serving thrid party ads on their content network

By Prasanna LM | May 24, 2008

To increase the advertisers pool in the network, Google has started accepting ads from selected third party vendors. This can turn out as a great value add for all the AdSense publishers as it enables their visitors to see more germane ads on the web pages. Though it might not be possible for the publishers to get immediate benefit from this move, it will certainly help them to increase the CTR & thereby the overall earning in their long run. This move from Google can also please some of the publishers who are complaining about drop in their revenues from past few weeks because of the decreased quality of ads served by AdSense.

Currently, Google is supporting the following third party vendors.

  • DoubleClick
  • ValueCick
  • EyeBlaster
  • EyeWonder
  • Interpolls
  • Pointroll
  • Unicast
  • Safecount
  • Factor TG
  • IAG
  • InsightExpress

As all of the third party ads are available in image or flash, you need to enable image ads if you want to serve third party ads on your site.

@TFR, Apart from Doubleclick, Google is also serving ads from other vendors as well. You can see more info about this on the official Adsense blog. http://adsense.blogspot.com/2008/05/introducing-third-party-ads-on-google.html
