Cutomizing your Internet Explorer title on Windows Vista using TweakVI

By Prasanna LM | May 17, 2008

Last week i came to know about a software called ‘TweakVI‘ for Windows Vista which allows us to tweak some of the hidden features of the Operating system. I will be writing detailed review about this software after few days. For the time being, i will show you one of the first tweak that i did after installing this software.

tweak

When we open the Internet Explorer on Vista we usually get Default title ‘Windows Internet Explorer’ on the title bar of the browser. TewakVI provides an easy option for customizing this title for Internet Explorer. This can be done with the following four simple steps.

1) After opening the control panel of the TweakVI, go to the ‘Internet Tweaks’

2) Select the option ‘Internet Explorer tweaks & Restrictions’ available on the right side

3) Select the check box ‘Use custom title instead of default title’ & enter your custom title in the text provided above

4) That’s it, you are done. Restart the browser to see your customized title.

In the above figure you can see the difference in the title bar before & after the tweak. I have used my blog name & description as the custom title.
